Is it possible to consistently profit while everyone else slows down and gets cozy during the Holiday Season?
Yes, I believe you can and the 3 tips I share with you inside of this post will help you do just that.
But before I get into those three tips…
I witnessed something I’d never seen before today…
It was like seeing the calm before the Black Friday storm at Home Depot and imagine each aisle lined with these black plastic bags covering up products (see pic).
As a new homeowner, I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you that most of my spare time is spent there…
Yes even most date nights include swinging by Home Depot for “that one thing we forgot to pick up” lol. ????
But last night showed me a few things about their business…
#1 – How much product they know they’ll sell in ONE 24 HOUR PERIOD during Black Friday
#2 – How you can set yourself up to prep and profit this holiday in your business like Home Depot does
Yes, the holiday season is a powerful time for businesses since people are in “buying mode”. The best businesses know that from November 1st to December 31st is crunch time to pop sales and set your business up for profit for the following year.
However…
How is it that the majority of people especially around the holidays…
Can’t help but give into the pulls of comfort food that makes you sleepy, give into the increased amount of family time and traveling, and who can forget the constant holiday hit movies that conveniently pop up as you’re just sitting down at your desk to start your work for the evening.
Sound familiar? Come on, I can’t be the only one. ????
So then the question becomes…
Is it actually possible to have both? Can you profit more, be more productive and set your business up for an incredible year during the holiday season…
While still enjoying time with family, friends and all the joy this season can bring?
I say yes you can and here are 3 tips I’ve personally implemented to make the holidays not only fun, but wildly profitable and productive while others are taking a nap and hoping business will take off in January.
Tip#1: Where Are YOU Headed?
Before you can actually produce in your business for the next month, you have to know where you want to go. The top business owners start mapping out what they want to accomplish for the New Year in the fourth quarter of the previous year.
If you feel like you’re too late, don’t worry you’ve still got plenty of time! To get you started on the right track, ask yourself these questions to help you discover what you want to accomplish next year:
- In 12 months from now, where do I want my business to be?
- What kind of person do I have to become to hit my income goals for next year?
- What action do I need to effectively execute each month to hit my numbers?
- What am I willing to give up next year to reach my goals?
Tip #2: Make Time Off A Priority
It sounds a little counter productive right? Actually the most successful people plan their time off each year and make it a priority. Your holiday season shouldn’t be any different.
Physically map out time that you’ll be taking off on your calendar. This allows your mind to know what times are actually available for you to work during this holiday season.
And when your calendar says “Time Off”, take the time off and enjoy it! As much as you need to produce in your business, you also need time to let your mind get refocused again.
Tip #3: Time Block
Now that you’ve mapped out what time you need off this holiday season…
It’s time to actually create time blocks for completing work. These time frames can range anywhere from 30 minutes to 4+ hours each day. Just know that whatever time you commit to, you are committing to doing productive work…
Not surfing Facebook, or answering emails, or checking out the latest holiday shopping sale. Turn off your phone if you can and close yourself off from the rest of the world for the timeframe you have to get stuff done. Even the teeniest bit of time will help you move closer towards setting yourself up for a killer New Year.
Making a commitment to spending some amount of time each day during the holiday on your business is critical. Here’s a video that can help you prioritize so you can do more in less time for your business:
For the past two years I’ve implemented these three tips starting in October and they’ve really made a difference in my productivity and profit during the holiday season. I hope they do the same for you!
